ASA Safety Supply is hiring a Controller for a full-time on-site position in Lawrenceville, GA.
Following the successful partnership with Trivest in 2020, ASA Safety is actively building talent and adding to the leadership team in support of a comprehensive growth strategy. The Company is seeking a Controller who will lead and manage all financial activities and will be responsible for building efficient processes and controls to manage all financial reporting for ASA. The Controller will also ensure a smooth financial integration of acquisitions as the company grows. He or she will report directly to General Manager and ensure visibility and transparency of all accounting to deliver timely and accurate financial statements.
ASA Safety Supply, a member of the Trivest portfolio of companies, is a distributor of workplace safety products based in Lawrenceville, Georgia. ASA Safety Supply provides personal protection equipment as well as workplace health and safety products and related services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Build efficient processes and controls:

o Execute a closing checklist and ensure a maximum ten-business-day month-end close
o Prepare accurate and GAAP-compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual financials
o Ensure proper internal controls and cash management functions are in place and being followed by the accounting staff and each subsidiary
o Perform reconciliations, accruals, and other accounting duties in a timely manner
o Develop a relationship with the company’s current outsourced accounting solutions provider (Quatrro) and manage the company side of the annual audit and tax responsibilities
o Serve as the relationship owner and interface for payroll, insurance, and tax providers and make recommendations to improve these functions and services
o Facilitate the centralization of all cash disbursements (AP and Payroll processes)
o Develop a strong relationship with staff and leadership in each subsidiary (as they are acquired)
o As necessary, partner with the leadership team to evolve technology solutions to automate, process and improve speed and quality across finance and accounting functions

  • Ensure that acquisitions are integrated in a timely and efficient process:

o Transition all bank accounts to The Company’s required bank
o Ensure each acquisition transitions to accrual accounting in a timely basis
o Manage the transition to other standard financial processes, systems, and products as required

  • Provide relevant financial analysis, reporting, and recommendations:

o Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process as required
o Support the implementation of key performance indicators to drive performance in the organization
o Update and submit relevant financials in support of the monthly investor reporting package
o Update and submit lender reporting packages and covenant compliance calculations

Key Performance Indicators

  • Timely and accurate monthly close (10 business days)
  • Timely and efficient M&A financial integration process
  • EBITDA growth and attainment versus plan
  • Cash flow management
  • Integration of finance and administration processes across subsidiaries
  • Substantial audit compliance with no significant findings
  • Team management and development (2-3 staff will be supporting this role)

Competencies

  • Willingness to roll-up sleeves as a “doer” and a coach
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to manage a finance team
  • Experience with annual audits / processes
  • Prior experience in a private equity setting preferred
  • Experience with post-acquisition integration preferred
  • Experience developing a finance function and team
  • Highly motivated and energetic team player

Other Requirements

  • Unquestioned integrity and honesty
  • 8 years of finance and accounting experience, including at least 2 years as a manager
  • CPA license preferred
  • BA/BS Degree (MBA a plus)
  • Experience in the broad Manufacturing/Distribution space is ideal, but not required
  • Candidates must be willing and able to work onsite in the Lawrenceville HQ
